Nike CMS Front End Software Engineer (Senior) in Beaverton, Oregon

What You Bring to Nike:

  • Proven experience as a highly productive developer with front-end technologies

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other technical areas or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of Javascript (ES2015) including advanced concepts such asynchronous and functional programming, closures, currying, patterns around the event stack, state management, caching and memoization.

  • Webpack knowledge including bundling and tree-shaking

  • Experience in React/Redux, Express, Node.js and GraphQL

  • Knowledge of HTML including Flexbox, semantic markup, accessibility and concepts such as OOCSS, BEM and ATOMIC

  • Knowledge of CSS and CSS2, including cross-browser compliance

  • Experience writing reusable web components and APIs from scratch

  • Knowledgeable with version control systems (Git) and issue tracking tools (JIRA)

  • End to End testing frameworks, such as Cypress or Protractor

  • Unit test frameworks such as Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Chai, Sinon

  • Knowledge of modern cloud computing stacks for deploying microservices and micro-frontends at scale. For example, AWS for cloud provider, EKS for Kubernetes, Docker for containers, Jenkins for CI/CD.

  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills

  • Experience with CMS/landing page platforms (WordPress, Unbounce, etc.) and marketing automation tools (Marketo, Optimizely, etc.) is a plus

  • Strong communication and great product sense

  • Passion for sports!

Your role

As a Senior CMS Front End Software Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain a variety of user interfaces for Nike’s tools within the content ecosystem. You will be a prolific code contributor and demonstrate code and product ownership. Help set the technical direction, including identification of all tasks and the dependencies between tasks and features.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with other amazing engineers to power the most exciting digital experiences for athletes on the market!

  • Work in a fast-paced agile environment

  • Add documentation for technical stack to assist in crafting roadmaps and reducing tech debt.

  • Mentor junior developers on the team, and through code reviews, ensure that all the work being done meets high levels of excellence. Maintain and improve the code style guide.

  • Write unit and end-to-end tests

  • Assist in solving production problems raised by customer support.

  • Effectively communicate needs/blockers/concerns & work collaboratively with other teams

  • Taking initiatives to solve problems

  • Meet with marketers and authors to improve their workflow and effectiveness
