As a Director in NIKE’s Technical Accounting and Policy team, you will be a key member of the team dedicated to advising the Company on complex accounting and policy matters. Key accountabilities include:

  • Ownership of NIKE’saccounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with emerging US GAAPand ensure policies remain relevant with evolving business activities

  • Taking a leading role as aconsultation resource for technical accounting issues and complex businesstransactions throughout the Company

  • Researching, resolving anddocumenting technical accounting issues; also responsible for maintaining arepository for all technical accounting matters;

  • Partnering with theExternal Reporting team to ensure appropriate external disclosureconsiderations;

  • Monitoring emergingaccounting guidance and authoring comment letters for proposed changes inaccounting guidance that may impact the Company;

  • Developing and deliveringtraining and education materials around Nike’s accounting policies to variousstakeholders throughout the business

  • Preparing materials forNIKE’s disclosure and audit committees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance;

  • CPA required;

  • 10+ years' experience in public accounting; additional experience working in a large multinational, publicly-held company is highly preferred;

  • Experience working in a Big 4 accounting firm’s Regional or National office is a plus;

  • Proven technical accounting skills, primarily in such areas as Revenue and Advertising & Marketing;

  • Proven people management experience;

  • Exposure to ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP or Oracle preferred;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, risks and opportunities with senior leadership team;

  • Proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations;

  • Proven ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers, preferably inclusive of navigating a large corporation
