Nike INFORMATION SECURITY PLATFORM ENGINEER II in Beaverton, Oregon

Enterprise Identity and Access Management (EIAM) is the functional business unit responsible for critical access controls throughout the enterprise. The EIAM Team, one of the Enterprise Architecture & Development Platform department teams within Nike’s Global Technology organization, is responsible for information systems access controls. The various technologies include, but are not limited to Access Management; Authentication & Single Sign-on; Digital Certificates and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI); Privileged Access & Session Management (PAM); and Identity Governance.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is seeking an outstanding individual to join our team as an Information Security Platform Engineer. The InfoSec Engineer II position operationalizes the enterprise's production environments through technology administration and ongoing production maintenance. The production engineers design, develop, and deploy various solutions to ensure the production availability of the access security controls and IT services. These include application code, policies (administrative, security, and technical), process area, and support mechanisms. This is a critical engineering role that goes beyond simply coding for applications.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience and behaviors of an IT Security Professional, be adaptable to the needs and requirements of maintaining a production environment, demonstrate urgency appropriate for security incident response, and work collaboratively with partners, business users, and the compliance requirements associated with security controls. Experience with identity and/or access management platforms is also crucial for success in this role. Another critical skill for this role is familiarity with DevOps deployment models using automated pipelines for code deployments.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be working with the Enterprise Identity and Access Management (EIAM) Team and performing production engineering such as, but not limited to, process or feature design, routine care and administration of the access security controls technologies, innovating solutions for sophisticated technical security problems, driving overall risk mitigation at the global level, and working collaboratively with a large variety of business unit teams throughout the enterprise.

A typical day/week would find the ideal candidate working with peers and internal customers to complete a prioritized list of technical fixes, vulnerability remediations, and feature improvements. Some days the support of the technical security controls will interrupt the routine work tasks for urgent remediation of security or technical incidents. The team works in two-week work sprints, with daily progress stand-up meetings. Beyond the routine administrative and technical maintenance, the typical work week will have 3 to 5 opportunities to work with collaborators, peer teams, compliance and risk functions, and other business units throughout the enterprise in consultation work.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will report directly to the Director of EIAM Production Engineering, with some informal reporting lines to the Director of EIAM Solutions Engineering, and the Manager of IAM Engineering in our India Technology Center. Work items will involve collaboration with the EIAM Ops Support Service Delivery Team, the EIAM Architect, Corporate Information Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance Team, and peer production engineers from other platform teams at Nike. As an Access Control Security Expert, you may be engaged with business partners and other users of the access management technology.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or combination of relevant education, experience.

  • 3 or more years experience in Identity and Access Management standards, principles, and practices. This should include engineering/development experience in a large-scale environment.

  • Experience with the following programming languages: Java, BeanShell/JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, SQL, Python

  • Experience with web technologies such: XML, SPML/SOAP, Web and Application Servers (Tomcat and/or JBoss), HTML

  • Experience with IAM systems on both Windows and UNIX (Linux, Sun, HP, AIX) platforms

  • Experience with Serverless framework

  • Experience with Databases (Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, MySQL)

  • Experience with Directories (LDAP, AD)

  • Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, PeopleSoft) a plus

  • Familiarity with RBAC a plus

  • Excellent communication skills and extensive experience working with clients and partners

  • Information Security or internal IT audit experience a plus

  • The ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability, technical systems troubleshooting

  • Superior communication, ability to explain complex concepts

  • Excellent organization, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to balance and prioritize work

  • Must be trustworthy in keeping sensitive data confidential

  • Associated or related technical certifications for IAM, J2EE, or IT Security domains a plus
