WHAT YOU BRING
5-7 years of experience in software engineering
2+ years of experience in processing Big Data and analyzing the data using Spark, Hive.
2+ years of technical leadership experience
Ability to communicate aspects of the project and filter messages based on the target audience
Possess a proven technical background and deep knowledge of software engineering principles, exceptional problem solving, design, programming, and testing skills
Experience with CI/CD across multiple platforms, such as GitHub action, Jenkins, Slack, Jira
Experience with cloud architecture and technologies, in particular, Amazon Web Services
Observability experience building monitoring dashboards in tools like SignalFx, New Relics, and Splunk

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is looking for a Lead Software Engineer on our Planning Platform team that will help craft, design, and build out our platform strategy. You would be able to lead and mentor engineers in building a platform that meets our security, scalability, and quality standards. You have a strong background in algorithms, data structures, and database technologies. You are able to work in a full DevOps model and remove technical issues or roadblocks for the team.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this, is you, you’ll be working on driving the technical implementation of our data platform with engineering, architecture, and product colleagues. The data platform team will unlock multiple other teams by implementing a network of micro-services that our front-end teams will consume. This has a tremendous impact on how our business sees and works with our data. You will be expanding a highly technical team and be responsible for team mentoring and growth.

This is the Nike matrix: The Lead Software Engineer will guide a team of 5-8 engineers on providing technical leadership and ensure best practices and Nike principles are followed. The Lead Engineer will work hand in hand with our Product Manager and Business with being able to give technical solutions to the business process that stick with our long-term vision.
