Description

The Global Brand Imaging (GBI) team is seeking an Editorial Producer for our Los Angeles studio. The successful candidate is creatively-driven and a master of execution and process with exceptional people skills. You will oversee and manage production of photography and video shoots within the editorial studios to ensure initiatives are on time, on budget and on strategy. You will also support art buying and negotiations across all GBI projects alongside the Director of Creative Production.

The successful candidate will be a thought leader who drives continuous improvement throughout our operation anticipating and meeting needs before they happen. This person must have exceptionally high standards and also demonstrate the attributes of a supportive team player. Strong communication and ability to multi-task a variety of projects with attention to detail is of utmost importance to ensure the production of the editorial studio runs seamlessly. You will be a liaison for art buying and production within various Nike internal teams as well as external partners.

Responsibilities INCLUDE:

  • Partner with the Director of Creative Production, GBI (Portland-based) to develop and implement pre-production and production procedures for the LA editorial studios.

  • Work closely with the GBI Product Detail Page Production team (PDP) and Casting Producer in LA to ensure production practices are consistent and efficient across all teams in the studio.

  • Embrace the use of various technology platforms such as Shift Expert and the GBI internal archival server to complete daily production updates.

  • Serve as the production expert for internal clients as well as external vendors to provide relevant support across photography and video shoots within the editorial studios.

  • Support manager with art buying, optioning, and negotiations across all GBI-produced shoots.

  • Expand creative talent database through research and recommendation of new talent (photographers, stylists, hair, make up, set designers, DPs and the like).

  • Identify and competitively negotiate rates for shoot talent (photographers, stylists, hair, make up, set designers, DPs and the like).

  • Partner with legal team to execute contracts for all shoot talent.

  • Build a roster of production agencies who can execute editorial shoot productions if external support is necessary.

  • Create and manage budgets.

  • Partner closely with finance to refine billing and invoicing procedures.

  • Maintain organized documentation of assets.

  • Work closely with the post production and technology teams to ensure asset delivery and archiving practices are effective.

  • Ensures teams are appropriately resourced to deliver against business and operational objectives.

  • Participate and provide studio updates in weekly staff status meetings.

  • Ensure that the studio exceeds industry standards and expectations.

  • Ensure GBI is Nike’s preferred imaging solution provider by developing programs/policies that make it easy and convenient for our clients.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive knowledge of photo and video production – minimum of 5 years.

  • Strong understanding of studio management.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Strong understanding of photography, video and social media platforms and technological specifications within each.

  • Experience managing multiple projects (small to large-scale) with multiple stakeholders.

  • Able to build working relationships with core and cross-functional teams.

  • Thrive in a self-started, faced-paced and changing environment with flexibility to adapt to last-minute additions and changes in direction.

  • Demonstrable ability to make effective decisions in challenging situations and/or under pressure.

  • Demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment and develop collaborative relationships with colleagues across the company; willingness to work with colleagues at all levels.

  • Proven ability to manage heavy workloads, prioritize work appropriately, and meet assigned deadlines; excellent organizational and analytical skills (including attention to detail).

  • Self-motivated, results oriented and well organized.

  • Demonstrable problem solver who can devise creative solutions to new client offerings and existing business needs.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Available to work overtime and weekends to meet client expectations.

  • Previous experience managing a high volume commercial studio.

  • Previous experience in art buying, negotiations and contract executions.

  • Strong budget creation and management skills.
