Nike Footwear Product Testing Director in Shanghai, China

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Product Testing Director to lead the Shanghai China Footwear Product Testing team.

This role oversees and directs all aspects of Footwear Product Testing across multiple fields of play in accordance with FPT Best Practices. Our Product Testing Director is responsible for creating and driving a global functional strategy in support of Divisional strategic plans, across sport and lifestyle dimensions that are supported in Shanghai. This role leads and develops a team of analysts to deliver required business results. The FPT Director removes barriers to provide innovative test solutions which enables the product creation teams to implement breakthrough ideas and product solutions. This role is responsible for building diverse and inclusive teams to drive the goals and success of the business, while cultivating an environment in which differences are openly shared, embraced and incorporated into the team culture. This role will be responsible for individual talent and performance development of direct reports. This role will develop team members to support both career and organizational goals, as well as provide coaching and development opportunities.

The candidate needs to have strong product creation acumen, proven leadership skills, formal management experience with process improvement background, exceptional communication and organizational skills as well as demonstrated initiative in identifying areas of opportunities and implementing solutions in conjunction with the leadership team.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will leverage functional and leadership expertise to develop a long-term strategy aligned to support Performance and Lifestyle dimension goals. You will collaborate with divisional and sport dimension leaders to determine strategic test priorities and develop an agile and responsive workload management plan to support business objectives. You will communicate clear functional objectives, aligning these plans to prioritize the work against the objectives of the business. This role requires your ability to identify, develop and communicate functional strategy and a compelling vision to motivate business stakeholders and direct reports to action. You will be responsible for development and coaching of individual analysts as well as instilling positivity, optimism and energy to the team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all functional resources needed to achieve world class footwear testing.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work directly with the extended Footwear cross-functional leadership team including; Development, Marketing, Design, Engineering and Material Development in pursuit of product excellence. You will also collaborate with other Divisional Footwear Product Testing Directors to align and lead initiatives on behalf of Footwear Product Testing across the Nike enterprise and you will report to the Beaverton, OR WHQ based Senior Director of Footwear Product Testing.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or minimum 10 additional years' relevant work experience in the footwear industry in lieu of a degree.

  • Management experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience is essential.

  • Proven experience creating and activating long term strategies by collaborating and working through others to achieve business results

  • Experienced with high level communication to leadership teams.

  • Experience in the footwear, product testing, development, marketing, engineering, retail, customer service industry is preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with spreadsheet database and statistical analysis procedures.

  • Able to physically lift and carry items weighing 20 pounds.

  • Passion for sport is a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 10% per year, domestically and internationally.
