WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Lead Developer, Apparel who will play a crucial role in the conceptualization, development, and execution of apparel products. This position requires a deep understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and market trends. This ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects from inception to production.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

This developer will lead the end-to-end product development process of apparel lines, from initial concept through to final production. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, management, design, and sourcing partners, to ensure alignment on product vision and execution, they will conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and consumer preferences. They will develop technical specifications and tech packs, including detailed sketches, measurements, and construction details. They will source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and other materials, considering quality, cost, and lead times. They will oversee sample development, fitting sessions, and revisions to ensure products meet design intent and quality standards. They will also manage relationships with domestic and international manufacturers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards, they will monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues to ensure on-time delivery of finished products. As the most senior developer in the team, they will also mentor and provide guidance to other product developers.

If this is you, you’ll be working with the GC Express Lane team to develop apparel products that bring energy to local markets.

Day-to-day tasks include: Project management, material and technology proposal, creating and maintaining Tech Pack and other technical specifications, supervising manufacturers on product development, sample review and revision, monitoring and solving issues throughout the product testing process, industry trend updates of technology and materials, factory visits, and vendor relationship maintenance.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be working with GC geography experts in product, development and design, Global experts in material development, and world-class domestic and international manufacturers.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum 7 years experience in apparel development and manufacturing, preferably with a focus on Sportswear.

  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of aesthetics and quality.

  • Experience working with both domestic and international manufacturers.

  • Supporting the manager in leading and coaching the team, and meeting development KPIs (sample on time delivery/buy ready on-time/cost-sheet quality, etc)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
