Nike Senior Director, Brand Creative, Women's, GC in Shanghai, China

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Sr. Creative Director, GC Brand Design - Womens leads several multidisciplinary teams across Brand Design (Narrative and Art Direction) and close oversight to Studio Management and Production. They will be responsible to drive creative ideas and collaboration across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that the team deliver integrated creative against the seasonal strategy. They are experienced people managers and mentor multiple creatives and build opportunities for individual development, performance management, recognition and rewards. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Manage the GC Brand Creative – Womens team, inclusive of Running, Fitness and Lifestyle/Runway creative teams, providing leadership, inspiration, mentorship, support and direction.

  • Work with the VP, GC - Brand Creative to develop the Womens creative point of view on key projects and partner with local brand marketing, through project levels of origination, extension and adoption.

  • Build relationships with functional Global and Geography partners in the brand creative network.

  • You will be responsible of upholding ‘Nike Standards’, driving creative excellence through all forms of storytelling, across multiple touchpoints and platforms. Reviewing project work for highest standards of quality, consistency, accuracy for successful completion.

  • Work strategically to drive ideas and brand awareness, providing strong engagement through creative deliverables across all consumer channels.

  • Deliver outstanding photography, video content, and digital design in service of the Womens consumer segment on key projects and moments.

  • Collaborate with styling, marketing, tech, retail, photography and editorial to lead teams through creative concept process and projects.

  • Sr. Creative Director, GC Brand Design - Womens will lead all aspects of Design (art direction narrative, design and copywriting) for Womens key projects, ensuring our content is always on-brand, contemporary, desirable and within agreed budgets.

  • Keep up to date with emerging trends in fashion, design, film, art, media and technology as relevant to Nike and the design team.

  • Ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively exceptional, and delivered on-time.

  • Identify needs for training and development, coaching and mentoring.

  • Ensure teams function effectively to achieve Nikes business objectives.

  • Collaborate with the larger team to critically evaluate the creative process and continually improve it.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will partner with the GC VP, Brand Creative - Creative Director, your studio teammates, Brand Marketing, Operations, Production, Legal, Human Resources. You will manage a team of 10 teammates including people managers.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Design or related field, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training.

  • 10 years leading concept, design and art direction in a branded content, agency, editorial or marketing environment.

  • Understanding of Womens Style, Fashion, and/or Editorial landscape is a plus.

  • A passion for the Athlete, Sport and Culture.

  • Great people-manager and mentor, with a knack and passion for helping everyone on the team-especially senior-level and entrepreneurial talent-to grow, improve, succeed, and advance toward collective and individual goals.

  • Proven depth of experience in commissioning and directing design, photography, and moving image in digital and experience environments.

  • Existing relationships with relevant freelance photographers, directors, stylists, etc.

  • Proven depth of design and art-direction experience in O2O environments.

  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.

  • Depth of experience across online, print, and experiential design, with a solid understanding of content platforms.

  • Highly proficient storytelling through design, typography, photography and retouching.

  • Astute attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills.

  • Experience leading a design studio and talent across various locations preferred.
