We’re looking for an Expert, Energy Marketing Neighborhood (NBHD) to join our Tokyo-based marketing team. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

As a Nike Energy Marketing leader in Japan, your main responsibilities will include seeking, signing, and leveraging new talent in art, design, fashion, and streetwear. Your role will require you to stay at the forefront of youth culture, localize our brand strategy, align with business partners, and develop integrated marketing plans from briefing to execution.

Your role will involve selecting the right talent to effectively connect with our consumers, developing journeys, and delivering outstanding service to manage and maintain a portfolio that meets our brand objectives. This will also include seeking consumer insights, extending global brand concepts for Japanese consumers, and developing high-impact ideas and marketing plans to activate our brand around Tokyo.

In addition, you will lead an end-to-end marketing process and participate in leadership reviews to ensure that all energy marketing meets our global brand standards. Your contribution to strategic planning, making presentations to drive inspiration and collaboration, leading meetings, ideating, and communicating direction will also be integral to your role.

Lastly, you will negotiate contracts, manage a studio space and a product seeding offense, and be responsible for managing a budget with the operations team to ensure that we maximize our resources and deliver on time.

Success in this role will be measured based on increased brand strength, consumer engagement, and business growth.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Director, Brand Marketing Japan and play a vital role as part of the Men’s Brand Marketing team.

You will collaborate closely with other Energy Marketing leaders to drive the Nike brand to the forefront of culture. Your responsibilities will include managing talent relationships and professional services to support local projects aligned with our brand priorities. Additionally, you will work in partnership with our Japan Marketing leaders, the Asia-Pacific Latin America (APLA) region, and Global Brand Marketing teams across Nike to enhance talent and develop more effective ways to elevate brand impact.

This involves integrating talent into strategic planning, brand storytelling, and product collaborations. Internally, your key partners include Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Retail Marketing, Integrated Media, Brand Planning & Operations, Sports Marketing, Communications, and Social & Community Impact. Externally, your key partners are talent from the art, design, fashion, and streetwear industries, as well as local agencies, creative collectives, and community leaders.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or anything equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in brand marketing and/or Public Relations (PR).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in Japanese and English).

  • High interest or background in sport, art, design, fashion and streetwear.

  • Proven ability to identify and manage relationships with thought leaders in Tokyo.

  • Prior cultural marketing experience with an understanding of the consumer landscape.

  • Knowledge of how to lead and execute cross-functional marketing campaigns.

  • Domestic and international travel required for relationship management and experience activation for 20% of the time.
